About the artist

Jen Kerins
I’m Jen, an Irish artist whose work is rooted in reflection, nature, and the quiet moments that shape how we see the world. My paintings invite stillness, contemplation, and reconnection with something deeper: a quiet inner power that often goes unnoticed in the rush of everyday life. My preferred medium is oil paint, which I sometimes complement with mixed media elements to enhance texture and detail.

This collection, "Éire mo chroí", is a love letter to Ireland and the Irish language. It was sparked, unexpectedly, by learning about my partner’s culture in Brazil. As I explored his roots, I began to feel a pull back toward my own; to the language, the folklore, the land, and subtle ways of seeing that shaped me more than I realised. Each painting is a remembrance, a way of listening to what the land still whispers: that we belong, that we are held, that the visible world is only half the story.

Éire mo chroí became a journey of unveiling, of painting the quiet thresholds between seen and unseen, memory and presence. Exhibited at DIVA 2025, it marks both an ending and a beginning: a closing of one circle and the quiet opening of another.

I’ve been especially inspired by the Irish landscape, its animals, wildflowers, and weathered beauty, and by the way the Irish language reflects a gentler relationship with identity and emotion. This collection is about quiet inner shifts that change everything: moments where the world softens, where everything pauses, and anything becomes possible.
